Works with the Operations Manager to plan, organize, lead, and manage floor operations in order to achieve targeted results, following the precepts of the Plymouth Business System. Ensures that operating personnel under their direction execute according to Company policies & procedures. Provides leadership for problem resolution with the operations manager to facilitate faster improvements and better working relationships.• Champion safety initiative within the operating functions in order to ensure employee safety;• Provide expectations, accountability, and direction to direct reports under the guidance of the operations manager;• Assists the Lean Coordinator in leading the lean management system (MDI) within the operating functions to ensure day to day performance as well as continuous improvement over time;• Provide oversight to the capacity and production planning processes to ensure on time delivery to our customers;• Ensure that operating personnel under their direction are trained in and consistently execute policies, procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing processes;• Fosters an operating culture that promotes involvement, communication, expectations and accountability, and a passion for excellence.• Champion problem solving teams and kaizen events in order to improve operating performance.

Oversees the standards and policies for pollution control, installation, modification, quality control, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, and oversees maintenance of plant buildings. Coordinates requirements for the maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery. Supports the plant in incorporating the current and established manufacturing philosophies to include Lean Manufacturing, and TPM. Directs integration of technical activities and products. Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. Tests newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications. Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget. Works with Maintenance Manager to identify/reduce equipment downtime and improve up time. Evaluate MTTR (mean time to repair) and MTBF (mean time between failures) for improvements. Maintain compliance with all state and local environmental requirements.
