Mr. Russell serves as the Senior Vice President, DTE Vantage working in the sustainable energy sector with a focus on connecting industrial facilities with strategic infrastructure to safely and permanently store carbon dioxide. Prior to the spinoff of DT Midstream, a non-utility business of DTE Energy, he managed the commercial activity at the business unit. Since 2015 he’s overseen the investment of over $2B dollars of capital in the Marcellus and Utica Shale plays and most recently, he led DT Midstream’s entry into the Haynesville Shale with the $2.6B acquisition of the M5's Blue Union Gas Gathering and Louisiana Energy Access Project.Prior to joining DTE Energy, Mr. Russell was with Energy Transfer Partners Interstate Pipeline group.Mr. Russell brings 30 plus years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility managing commercial activity relating to interstate natural gas pipelines, storage, gathering and LNG facilities and now carbon capture and sequestration.In an executive capacity, Mr. Russell has commercially managed interstate/intrastate pipeline and gathering system networks with over 13,000 miles of pipe, 550+ customers, 14.6 Bcf/day of total throughput and over 160 Bcf of storage.
