Gregg Schmidt is a skilled communications leader with 25 years of experience in national and international media relations, issues and crisis communications, brand development, writing and editing, event management, and organizational thought leadership.Gregg is currently consulting for Ryelion Communications as he looks for his next communications leadership role. Before working at Corteva, Gregg worked for over seven years in global communications roles for DuPont. He led special projects, issues and crisis communications, and M&A communications as a member of the DuPont Corporate Communications Global Leadership Team. He also led Public Affairs for three former businesses of the company.Prior to his time at DuPont he spent almost 11 years working in Washington, DC. Gregg was the Director of Media Relations at the Consortium for Ocean Leadership and worked for I.M. Systems Group as a Communications & Media Relations Officer on a government contract to an inter-agency office.Gregg received his Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from York College of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Arthur W. Page Society, the Public Affairs Council, and the University of Virginia Darden Leadership Communications Council. He is a winner of the IABC Gold Quill Communications Award and the IABC Silver Inkwell Communications Award.He is a proud Board Member of the Food Bank of Delaware and the Piedmont Baseball & Softball League, where he served as President for three years from 2022-2024. Gregg also continues to coach youth athletics in Delaware. He coached Piedmont baseball from 2015 to 2023 and boys’ basketball for Saint Mary’s of the Assumption since 2018. Gregg lives in Hockessin, Delaware with his wife, three children, and their family dog.
