About Gregg Spitler

One of the things that I have enjoyed during my career is adapting to new situations. The changes included:Types of Energy – In the electric industry, went from analyzing large coal, nuclear or gas-fired combined cycle power plants to renewables (wind, solar, geothermal, biomass, fuel cells) to residential rooftop solar. Markets - From a regulated utility where the public utility commission sets your return to competitive wholesale electric markets where the generators bid into the energy markets hourly, in the US and overseas, to contractual agreements, either power purchase agreements between a generator and the utility or residential rooftop solar agreements. Technology at work - Starting with writing budgeting software on an IBM main frame to using a Lotus 123 like spreadsheet on a mini-computer to Microsoft Office on a PC. The last few years I worked at Alternative Energy Solutions, a department within Dominion Resources, whose sole focus was new technologies in the electric and natural gas industries. There I did the financial analysis of new technologies such as solar PV, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, fuel cells, and smart grid. I was the primary person responsible for managing the Tredegar Solar fund that invested in residential rooftop solar installations. As my work environment has changed so have I.Outside of writing budgeting software in the beginning of my career, my career has been focused on the financial analysis of the construction or acquisition of power plants or investments in companies in the electric or natural gas industries. I calculated the after tax cash flows, GAAP income as well as worked on the presentations of the investments to senior management.I am looking for part time/fractional employment in the alternative energy space. Prefer small companies or startups.Specialties: Financial analysis - solar PV, wind, renewable, smart grid

Listed skills include Renewable Energy, Solar Pv, Energy, Wind, and 18 others.
