About Greg Hagan
2013 and 2015 I-Car Instructor of the Year North Central Region2012,2013, AND 2014 Nationally Ranked TOP SHOP!!by ABRN MagazineI began down this path in Collision Repair Leadership over 18 years ago and....OH BOY!! What a journey it is! I am challenged each day and enjoy learning and growing everyday. My Goals...CHALLENGE THE NORMS OF DOING THINGS--BRING OUT THE BEST IN MYSELF AND OTHERS!Some of my Business Philosophies are...1. CHALLENGE and CHANGE THE CULTURE! Why does it have to be this way or that way? What can it be? What should it be? Change, maintain, and BE the Culture and Attitude you expect in your business.2. NEVER STOP LEARNING AND DON'T GIVE UP! There is always something to improve on--whether it be in your personal life, business life, or family life. Keep IMPROVING and growing. Gain new skills and improve others.3. TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS AS INVITED AND EXPECTED GUESTS. They should feel welcome and expected. Prepare each day for them as you would for invited guests in your home. TREAT THEM AS GUEST and THEY WILL BECOME LIKE FAMILY! Once someone has trusted you for their repairs---You should be able to say they would NEVER go anywhere else or to anyone else.4. NETWORK AND ADD VALUE TO OTHERS LIVES!5. EMPOWER PEOPLE. Give them the Freedom to make mistakes. If they are fearful for their jobs and failure they will hesitate and are doomed to fail. Let them make decisions---good and bad so they can learn and grow. Let your team do what they do best--encourage creativity and new ways to do things!6. WHEN SOMEONE "FAILS" ASK YOURSELF...Did they have the knowledge and ability to succeed? If not develop them--teach them--help them. Our Business is only as good as the team we build to represent it!Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success. 2005-2006 Service Manager for D-Patrick Honda. Oversaw moving the dealership into a new location and getting up and running with new workflow and processes.2006-2008 Moved back into the Body Shop side of the organization. Designed and then watched over remodeling of an 12,000 square foot existing building being turned into a body shop to serve our Honda dealership and community. Became General Manager of the location until it was on its feet and running well.2008-2015 served as Director of Operations for the body shop division of our company. In April of 2012 I again had the privilege to design and oversee remodeling and construction of an 18,000 square foot location. The location is our first to be off site from the dealership and incorporates a six bay service department on site. 2015-Oct 2017 Served as the General Manager of the shop I opened in 2012 as we eliminated the Director position. General Manager
General Manager of the Downtown D-Patrick Body and Glass location. Started with two combination technicians and built the business through teamwork and constant learning and improvement. At the end of 2004 we had tripled the business and had pratically reached capacity for our little 4500 square foot building.
Service Advisor
Started completely green in the dealership world and learned all I could as fast as I could. During my time as an advisor I learned to work as a team and utilize my technicians and staff to the best of their abilities and talents. This was during the time of the Firestone tire issue with the Ford Explorers and I trained my wife to inspect tires for the recall. She and I scoured the city putting my business cards on the vehicle letting customers know to call me for a free set of tires. I had the department backlogged for a month with tires. I also developed relationships with area sales managers and I would walk their lots at nights and weekends gathering VIN numbers. I then researched recalls and would facilitate picking up and delivering back their Ford products and performing the recall work for them.Through my intiative the owner promoted me to the Body Shop in hopes of the same sales outcome as I had proven to him in Service and I did not dissapoint.
