Software Architect / Development ManagerDataprose Nov 2000 - Nov 2004Architect for web-based system to automate the production of various types of statements through the process of data transfer, document conversion, storage, imaging, printing, folding and mailing. Many types of statements were automated including telephone, water/electric/other utility, collections, tax, and medical claims. This system replaced manual procedures, greatly improving productivity. In one case alone the processing time dropped from 48 hours to 17 minutes. Also developed several websites to enable our customers to provide online statement viewing, detailed reports, and online bill payment for their customers. Integrated with several customer’s billing systems to automatically update them when online payments were made.This project utilized many different technologies as it evolved over a four-year period: Java, C#, .NET, XML, XSLT, MS SQL 2000, and IIS/web services were some. Integration was required with several vendors’ hardware and software products to provide services such as cast certification, address forwarding, document imaging, and online payment processing. Load balancing was implemented on web servers and application servers to allow “anytime” maintenance and to scale up as the number of customers increased. -
