Responsible for the development of client-facing real-time drilling applications that are used on drilling rigs, in corporate offices, and in “war room” monitoring centers to monitor drilling operations on oil and gas rigs. Maintained the original application which was written with Adobe products, and re-designed it to run on .net 4.x, while keeping server-side changes to a minimum. Meet with clients in the Dallas area and work with their drilling engineers in order to constantly improve the products. Also aided in debugging serial communications issues with monitoring equipment that are unique to rig site environments.

Architect/Development manager for all software development projects for a security and video monitoring company. Oversee staff of four developers. Integrated internal systems with alarm monitoring software from several vendors, and with a remote Central Station monitoring center. Redesigned existing website and back-end processes from ASP, VB, and Windows 98 applications to .net, C#, and windows 2003 and XP platforms. Projects include:* Customer-facing website to allow customers to remotely manage their alarm panels, request on-site service, monitor service tickets, and view invoices for all their sites. Uses AJAX, .net 3.5, C# and other technologies to provide state of the art web-based controls.* Back-end integration to automate connecting to and configuring Ademco, Caddx and DMP alarms panels at customer sites, eliminating the need for Alarm Technicians to do this manually, while also allowing for 24/7 operation. * Full website integration with Service Ledger’s service/accounting system.* Web Servers are load balanced and web session state is completely persisted, providing extremely reliable web sites for our customers.* SOAP interface with Central Station Monitoring partner company to automate data transfer between the two companies.* Mystery shopping technology to allow existing security audio and video devices to be used to monitor and rate employee practices.* Developed an embedded software solution for a web-enabled appliance to monitor and control various devices at customer sites such as temperature/pressure sensors, doors, HVAC, people counters, DVRs., EAS, RFID, etc.Technologies used: .NET, C#, Java, AJAX, SOAP, XML, MSMQ, SQL 2000.

Architect for web-based system to automate the production of various types of statements through the process of data transfer, document conversion, storage, imaging, printing, folding and mailing. Many types of statements were automated including telephone, water/electric/other utility, collections, tax, and medical claims. This system replaced manual procedures, greatly improving productivity. In one case alone the processing time dropped from 48 hours to 17 minutes. Also developed several websites to enable our customers to provide online statement viewing, detailed reports, and online bill payment for their customers. Integrated with several customer’s billing systems to automatically update them when online payments were made.This project utilized many different technologies as it evolved over a four-year period: Java, C#, .NET, XML, XSLT, MS SQL 2000, and IIS/web services were some. Integration was required with several vendors’ hardware and software products to provide services such as cast certification, address forwarding, document imaging, and online payment processing. Load balancing was implemented on web servers and application servers to allow “anytime” maintenance and to scale up as the number of customers increased.

Senior developer for an airline reservation system used by American Airlines, British Airways, and others. Used Weblogic and Bluestone application servers with Oracle databases on Unix and Windows servers. Project was implemented in Java utilizing EJB. This was a 6 month contract position.

* Architect for a mortgage e-commerce startup in California. Responsible for: infrastructure design, software development utilizing Java and C++ for the server side, and Javascript, ASP and HTML for the web-based client side. Also provided system administration, firewall and router configuration, and redundant ISP configuration services. Integration with several outside companies to transfer information such as credit scores and interest rates in real time.* Technical Lead/Sr. Analyst for a workflow-based mortgage process improvement for Merrill Lynch. Project utilized Mosaic’s Viewstar workflow engine, C++ on UNIX with Informix database for the server side, and Visual Basic on Windows NT for the client side.* Sr. Analyst for workflow project with Bank of Boston. Project utilized Visual Basic and IBM’s Flowmark workflow engine.* Sr. Analyst for document import system. Software design and development using advanced Java features such as RMI and reflection. Product works without code changes on UNIX or Windows using either Oracle, MS SQL, or Informix databases.

Research and Development for internet and intranet applications. Responsible for web hosting services, firewall, DNS, and proxy servers using Windows NT products. Cisco and Bay router configuration. Also responsible for corporate data security. Developed several intranet sites and advised other organizations on internet technologies. Languages used: Java, C++, VBScript (Active Server Pages).

Design and develop various financial, data security, and open print applications in a client/server environment. Oversee source code control procedures, CMM processes. Utilized C and C++ languages with ORACLE and SYBASE on UNIX Sun/Pyramid platforms.

* Design and develop an object oriented “middleware” system to enable remote sales staff to process orders, perform inquiries, and exchange email by dialing in with a PC or hand-held terminal device (Telxon). Developed using client/server technology and multi-threaded processes. System has been running 24x7 since late 1993 in three different countries. Project utilized C++ language on an OS/2 platform.* Develop and maintain a DOS communication program to automate on-line sessions for the middleware system. (Client software for the system above.)* Develop various Novell Netware utilities using the Netware API under DOS and OS/2.

* Performed as part of a development team in defining and developing next generation client/server control systems software products using C and Smalltalk.* Developed real-time communication interfaces for automating semiconductor manufacturing equipment utilizing C language on VMS and UNIX platforms.* Porting the real-time interface portion of Thesis’ control system software product from VMS to three UNIX platforms.* Also performed other duties which included developing requirement definitions, performing specialized product training, scheduling projects, and operating as technical advisor for sales and marketing.

* Lead Software Engineer: Developed PC-based network application to automate console operator tasks on Level I mainframe computers. Project utilized C language.* Lead Software Engineer: Developed a PC-based data collection network for the HARM missile factory. Project utilized C and assembly.* Developed signal processing and guidance software for the HARM missile. Project utilized assembly language.* Developed ethernet file transfer utilities for use on TI’s nation-wide network. Project resulted in an estimated annual savings of $100,000. Project utilized C language.* Developed RS232 device drivers for TI and IBM PCs. These drivers are used worldwide at TI and several universities in the U.S. and in Canada. Project utilized assembly language.* Developed software to automate downloading and remote starting of HARM missile testing equipment via ethernet and RS232. Project resulted in an estimated annual savings of $28,000. Project utilized C and assembly.* Automated transactions from a PC-based data collection network to a Level I mainframe system. Project resulted in an estimated annual savings of $250,000. Project utilized 4GL, C, and assembly language.* Developed a multi-user database system for a semiconductor fab. The system tracked the life of each photomask used by the fab, gathering such data as history and defect map. The system also provided various reports for engineering. Project utilized PASCAL language.
