This can range from helping a new firm get their website or technology set up, to meeting with investors looking to research the legal technology world, to acting as an expert witness in cases where marketing or videography are at issue.

During my tenure as director of marketing and data migration, I oversaw the transfer of millions of data points and helped generate millions of dollars in annually recurring revenue. Filevine grew from a literal ZERO in the revenues column to hundreds of thousands of dollars in monthly recurring revenue during my time there. In 2016 we experienced DOUBLED revenues quarter over quarter.While at Filevine I created the data migration department and the marketing department. I managed both during my time there. I created client retention tools including articles, self-help tools, contact tools, how-to videos, and more. I trained marketing, data migration, and sales teams on key processes and software with in-person meetings, memos, and training videos. I created and implemented processes in sales, marketing, tracking, reporting, and data management.I created reports for C-level officers that helped guide the direction of the marketing as well as the software development based on competitive analysis, buyer persona, SWOT analysis, and more. These tools enabled the C-level officers to make decisions that turned Filevine into a major threat in the industry.

I developed systems not only for our client's marketing efforts, but for our own marketing, sales, operations, and technology. During the 3 years of operation until the sale of the company, we had a 100% client retention rate - an unprecedented achievement in the digital marketing agency world.

During college I picked up a part-time job selling insurance and became the #1 intern in Utah for Northwestern Mutual. Soon after that, I decided to give insurance a shot. It turns out the job isn't about insurance, it's all about sales and marketing. On the marketing side, insurance is setting out as many "buckets" as possible to catch the trickle of leads that are always flowing. On operations, it's all about customer care, and following up on your leads in a timely fashion. During this time period, online marketing for insurance was still a fledgling operation, so it was relatively easy to get good rankings and get lots of clients. I was able to sell my book of business to another insurance agent and then work as his marketing person for a while before leaving to start TruCounsel. While I kept my license for a few years, I didn't really sell any new policies once TruCounsel got started. It just took off way too fast!

Beginning in 1997 I worked as a freelancer doing web design, SEO, online content creation, etc. My first foray into the world of digital marketing came when the company I was working for was hired to get Zion Lodge to rank higher than Zion National Park in searches for Zion National Park. We pulled it off, too. :) Of course, back then it was easy. Since then I've kept up on the emerging technologies so when it was time to go full-time, the transition was easy.
