• Design and implement 110-server VMWare ESX high-availability fault-tolerant farm on SAN providing over 3,500GHz of processing power and 8TB RAM across 3 datacenters. Supported monitoring and automated backup for over 1000 production and development Windows and Linux servers on virtual hardware.• Drove server conversion project (P2V) in 2010 to rapidly bring our datacenter to 80% virtualized, reducing costs for power, cooling, maintenance and other hosting costs while dramatically increasing average server utilization.• Performed key role migrating two on-site datacenters to hardened Qwest (now CenturyLink) hosting center in Brandon to allow further expansion and stage for improved disaster recovery capabilities.• Successfully test and implement file screens, space quotas and end-user email alerts for network home directory storage, reducing storage and backup costs.• Migrated 14TB of file data from local Windows storage to single EMC Celerra NAS device with separate DiskExtender archiving data to an EMC Centera.• Lead annual disaster recovery projects followed by successful tests at 2 cold-sites.• Recognize need, then investigate requirements and develop scripts to automate common, repetitive (and error-prone) tasks such as creating and disabling network accounts or managing consultant or temp staff accounts, reporting on VMware status, and exporting Active Directory user list for historical compliance lookups.• Develop database and code to centrally manage, document and report on datacenter hardware inventory and running applications, IP subnets/addresses, and fax number assignments. Updated the database to include extensive new datacenter capacity reports for the executive dashboard.

• Manage data centers and 13 engineers responsible for all data network (firewalls, routers, switches, etc.), SAN storage, Windows and Unix/Linux systems through incredible growth period with a massive ramp-up in storage, web, server/blade and Citrix infrastructure. Perform annual reviews, mentoring, hiring/termination, and implement training for staff.• Negotiate with vendors and order equipment, perform short to long-term resource planning and recommend technical solutions to senior management.• Lead planning, ordering and contractor management and eventual maintenance for build-out of new 58-rack datacenter including racks, UPS power, cooling, KVM, network requirements, monitoring and standards documentation.• Lead Infrastructure team to develop & document standards, including instructions for installing Windows Server consistently on servers, creating/deleting accounts, and naming hosts.

• Managed projects and developed implementation schedules, technical designs and specifications for Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000 upgrade, plus Windows 2000 and Active Directory rollout of 1500 PCs and 15 servers. Created detailed project plans, implemented a pilot network and tested various upgrade procedures before upgrading production systems.• Setup, document and manage enterprise-wide: Exchange 5.5 and 2000 email servers including associated web and SMTP gateways, content-filtering email gateways, antivirus, HP OpenView software distribution and inventory system, SNMP management tools, Active Directory Group Policy Objects, security auditing and alerting, logon scripts, DHCP, DNS & WINS name resolution infrastructure.• Develop, manage, audit and enforce network security standards and access rights for users, groups, applications and data. Work as a team planning and testing biometric fingerprint authentication system pilot for inclusion into Windows 2000 rollout• Design Windows 9x & 2000 Pro standard disk image installation procedures using batch files, Microsoft .INF scripting, SysPrep, registry files and other scripts.• Install, update, and maintain network- and workstation-based applications via network software distribution utilities and registry modifications.
