The WiKID Strong Authentication System is a patented dual-source, software-based two-factor authentication system designed to be less expensive and more extensible than hardware tokens.http://www.wikidsystems.comI joined the company to focus on the implementation of WiKID's open source strategy. My initial focus was on developing numerous open-source and proprietary plugins for one side of the architecture using Ruby, Python, and PHP. Along the way, I started assisting with enhancements to the core Java-based architecture and CentOS-based appliance. I also architected and developed the iPhone and Android versions of the core end-user application, and assist with various marketing initiatives as needed.

Nootech is a small consulting company through which I help smaller clients with various technology needs. + Designed and implemented the full IT infrastructure for a start-up company in Saint Lucia, West Indies. Developed the core of the business with a Java-based registration system using a Sybase database platform, and helped design the public-facing Web site. This system has been in constant use since 1999, with regular changes and enhancements to add functionality, improve the user experience of key touch points, and react to regulatory changes that impact the core functionality.+ Implemented a Plone-based intranet for a medical device company, providing a better user experience to the staff the Drupal and SharePoint solutions being considered.+ Developed an online perl-based order system for an apparel company.

As part of the Interactive Development program, I teach various programming courses, including advanced JavaScript development, specifically focused on AJAX and the use of various API's. This includes the use of jQuery's AJAX methods for consuming various public APIs, such as Twitter and Google Maps. We also focus on good techniques for using raw JavaScript without a framework such as jQuery. I've also taught the introductory HTML/CSS class and the intermediate course that covers frameworks such as Bootstrap and Foundation.
