Managed up to 9 employees in the integration and support of up to 80 Windows server, 70 Solaris and Redhat Linux servers, over 150TB of data storage, data backup systems ranging from DLT to LTO5, Storage Area Networks (SAN) and NAS devices, ftp and EDI systems, LAN and WAN network infrastructure, VPN and Citrix servers for external access, and web and application server support. Solely responsible for development and implementation of a Disaster Recovery plan for the entire data center and business units. Responsible for multi-million dollar purchases of new systems for major projects and upgrades. Maintained an average of 99.95% system availability throughout tenure at RxAmerica. Claims adjudication, the primary source of income for the company, increased from just over 2 million claims in 2000 to over 111 million claims in 2011. Implemented and oversaw a Configuration Control Board process to insure management review and awareness of changes to production and test systems. Recently oversaw a significant security project to implement minimum security baseline (MSB) and data loss prevention (DLP) on all servers to comply with regulatory requirements for PCI, SARBOX, and HIPAA. Remediated over 1500 compliance issues in a little over 4 months.

Duties included the installation and configuration of Sun Enterprise 4500s, EMC Symmetrix 3700, McData ED-5000 SAN. Up time on all these systems was at nearly 100%. Also implemented a backup strategy for these systems using Veritas' NetBackup to backup business continuance volumes (BCVs) on the EMC Symmetrix. This involved writing an extensive Bourne shell script to synchronize the BCVs with the primary volumes and then use the BCVs to backup the data. This strategy resulted in only one minute of down time every night for the Oracle database. Responsible for all backups on Windows NT and NetWare servers using Veritas Backup Exec, including Backup Exec's Intelligent Disaster Recovery software for bare metal restores. Also concluded the development of all Y2K contingency plans, concluded updating the business resumption plans for 1999 and 2000, including development of a hot-site. Moved to team leader for a group of 5 with system administrator duties including front-line support for users, backups, Windows NT server O&M, home office and branch NetWare server O&M, new account administration, GroupWise administration, Sun/EMC/McData O&M, and writing knowledge-base documents for other administrators to use. Other projects included a plan for complete software upgrade of all the Sun/EMC/Veritas products, Microsoft SMS installation, Microsoft Cluster software installation, installation of a GroupWise WebAccess server including installation of the GroupWise Enhancement Pack, and development of an upgrade plan for NetWare 5.1.

Worked in support of a migration from NetWare 3.12/4.11 to Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. Primary duties included integration of all third-party applications into the Windows NT environment and resolution of user and network problems. Instrumental in developing a standard workstation configuration and installation instructions/documentation for each software product. Also developed Winbatch and DOS batch scripts for both automated installation and execution of non-Windows NT aware products.

Served as line manager for PC Systems Support section of the Operations Branch for the Networks Division in the (ECJ6-NOP). Primary duties were the management of up to 11 personnel in the support of customer service, server support, and special projects for a NetWare 3.12/4.11 network consisting of approximately 12 servers and 1600 PCs with Windows 3.1, 3.11 and 95. Also responsible for implementation of an AMHS client on network PCs for electronic delivery/transmission of AUTODIN messages. Responsible for the system administration of the Secure Mail Guard (SMG), the implementation of an upgrade to the SMG and the installation of another SMG to provide communications to foreign national liaison officers.

Provided technical advice on Information Resource Planning to the Plans Branch of the Resources Division (ECJ6-RP). Primary duties consisted of networking and integration/implementation for the Global Command and Control System (GCCS) and Office Automation systems. Specific areas of concern were the GCCS software and hardware deliveries, the upgrade/consolidation of several networks, implementation of AMHS's for the GCCS and Office Automation systems, planning initiatives for the Defense Message System (a DoD-wide standardized implementation of messaging and electronic mail), funding requirements for GCCS sustainment, and the migration of USCINCEUR Command and Control System (UCCS) to the GCCS.

Primary duties involved the O&M (since 10/93) of the automation and communications systems for the Combat Maneuver Training System Instrumentation System (CMTC-IS) and, before that, the CMTC Initial Instrumentation Capability (CMTC-IIC). This included responsibility for all computer systems, telecommunications systems, audio/video presentation systems, and field data collection systems, as well as management of up to 38 personnel in the support of those systems, including an Engineers, software engineers, RF technicians, computer hardware technicians and audio/video technicians. Involved in the design reviews, installation, and testing for the CMTC-IS (to include a Fiber Optic WAN). Responsible for management of the effort to complete the installation and debugging of the CMTC-IS for final government acceptance and in the changeover from the CMTC-IIC to the CMTC-IS. Also acted as the technical point of contact to the Government, provided technical liaison to subcontractor personnel, and oversaw Engineering Change Proposal efforts.

Primary duties included maintaining state-of-the-art computer resources for ECCS-AS by providing for maintenance and direction for use of existing equipment, and researching, installing, and testing new equipment, including design and implementation of local area networks. Also involved in the design of a $5.5 million, three story, tempested, computer facility, and responsible for audio/video support, the supply account, contract management, and facility maintenance.
