I started my own company in 2009 because I couldn't sit out the recession. Photography has always been a creative diversion for me. It was exciting to spend a couple of years focused on developing that skill.

I had created the logo for The Painting Pros when I worked with Dreamwright Studios. When they began to franchise their company nationwide they sought me out to bring a consistent professional look to all of their marketing efforts. As Creative Director I created all of their print collateral. I managed advertising campaigns that ran in Entrepreneur Magazine, The Washington Post and USA Today. I was also entirely responsible for all of their Internet marketing strategies.

I served in a part-time position in this small church near Mt. Pleasant, NC. I was responsible for recommending curriculum, weekly teaching with the teens, and planning special events. I trained the adult volunteer leaders as well.

I was the first employee of Parker Web Marketing and was responsible for all design. At Parker, we focused on web usability based on web standards in all of our Internet projects. The company was also very forward thinking in its use of blogs and search engine marketing.

Dreamwright Studios was a partnership with two former colleagues. I created the brand identity for the company and was responsible for all design. I sat in as a consultant on most sales. At Dreamwright, I began to develop pages around CSS, XHTML using standards based markup.

WebKorner was an Internet Service Provider that originated in Salisbury but had relocated to Charlotte. They hired me as their first full-time Webmaster. I got to experience web design and development in a production environment for three years. I was a part of most every design project from sales, to implementation to support. During this time I learned to do some Javascripting. I took code written in PERL and added inline HTML to create the presentation layer for the programming. I also developed most of the company's marketing pieces.

Art Education

Coursework included 2D design, natural media, figure, and art history.

Digital Arts

In the early 90's community colleges were adding computer-aided design courses faster than universities. Coursework also included marketing.
