(*2 in NZ). 1 voluntary staff turnover in 36 mths - internal move.• A monthly reporting package providing transparency to management for each business unit, prior to the month end reporting deadline.• My teams addressed the problem of virtually no financial control and no transparency over the fixed costs and provided the base for Cost reduction initiatives totalling US$0.9 mill during ’07 and ‘08.• Provided the business with detailed job costing reports, and EBT by customer reports, highlighting areas of extraordinary profits and losses that required attention/action.• Preparation & analysis of the group’s consolidated 1st quarter full year forecast results for management.

Reporting directly to the GM of Finance & Control for Asia Pacific, my primary responsibility was the financial reporting and control of the Regional Operational Costs, (landside terminal, depot and trucking costs), for 13 countries, and providing support for regional procurement

Reporting to both the Asia Pacific Controller and to the regional Costing System implementation team based in Hong Kong I was responsible for the finance configuration, testing, and roll out of the new Global Costing Product, to each of the 13 countries for the Asia Pacific region.

Reporting to the Asia Pacific Controller in HKG I was secnded to Europe to acquire knowledge and to identify exceptions that would apply to the forthcoming rollout of the new global ‘Operations and costing’ product in the Asia Pacific region.Responsibilities included;- recommending solutions/necessary workarounds, and acting as the Asia Pacific Finance focal point for the new operations and costing product,- Liaising closely with Asia Procurement highlighting issues/requirements related to rate agreements,- Testing Purchase Order generation and invoice matching, and preparing Asia Pacific region finance for the rollout.

Project Accountant & Business Expert for the implementation & design of PeopleSoft Purchase to Pay Process for the company's global offices for non-operating expenditure. Implementation partner was Deloitte Consulting along side technical exports from PeopleSoft.

From 1999 to 2000 my role was to represent Head Office Finance interests in the role out of a number of global interfacing systems into the East and West Africa offices, as well managing the ‘regional’ requirements and ‘trade’ requirements. The systems were in-house global interfacing systems covering Documentation and Revenue, Global Financial and Management reporting, and Operations Costing

Preparing monthly Charge to Trades, variance analysis, providing trade packages, investigation of adhoc queries from the London based trades, preparation of FYF’s, Year-End reporting, and Budgets.

A review was required due to local uncertainty of the figures being produced from the local systems in North America. The short but intensive review entailed extensive analysis of- The ‘Operational Costs System’ database,- Business Objects queries and reports, detailed Lotus & Excel worksheets and associated macros, and- Analysis of the ‘North America transport’ system.The objective was to determine the accuracy of the final year end accounts for both of the systems used for North America operational costs reporting.

Monthly preparation of financial packages, P&Ls, balance sheets, including variance analysis and commentary, and Preparation of quarterly forecasts and dealing with auditors. (P&O Swire & NZUE trades).
