Metagenix was a startup that was widely recognized as one of the pioneers in data integration software. • Developed relationships with Global 2000 customers, system integrators, consultants, and OEMs.• Architect and developer of MetaTrans, a Cobol copybook to Ascential DataStage migration utility.• Architect and visionary of MetaRecon, a data profiling and analysis tool. This was the first data profiling tool with true distributed and parallel operation. Ascential Software purchased this product and rebranded it as ProfileStage as part of the DataStage suite.• Architect, visionary, and chief developer of MetaPure, a real time, web services based business rules engine for data quality applications. I consulted with several clients and partners to produce implementations of custom business rules within our environment.• Leader on several mission critical address quality cleanup projects for over 40 E-911 systems including SFPD, NYPD, and Orange County FL.

Head of Products for a 300 person software company. I was responsible for developing and maintaining 30+ software products, budgeting, planning, and the day to day operation of the division for a leader in the public safety/E-911 business. • Implemented best practices for the company, including software development methodology, source control, change control, release management, release planning, process improvement, peer reviews, and software project management. • Key role in transitioning the company from a service based consulting group to a software products company. • Recruited, built, and managed teams of developers to deliver products on time and within budget. • Produced the first certified releases of Tiburon's flagship products (the company had been in business more than 15 years at the time).

I founded Maptronix in 1991, a geographic information system company that specialized in the public safety market. Our flagship product, which I developed from concept to implementation, is now known as RTM (Real Time Mapping). Maptronix was a pioneer in the field of real time public safety mapping. Our products were installed with the NYPD, one of the most demanding dispatch environments in the country. I also developed a geofile editor based on Foxpro and Microstation and a suite of geofile verification and conversion utilities. As we added development staff, we added products such as plotting, analysis, and a Tcl/Tk architecture and Perl interface. I was responsible for the day to day operation of the company, including budgeting, planning, vendor negotiations, prime/sub contractor relations, accounts payable/receivable, contract administration and negotiation, and sales and marketing. I managed the company through the acquisition by Tiburon.

A software developer for ISS, a leader in the field of Electronic Design Automation. My accomplishments included porting their graphical IC layout editor to OpenLook and the Intergraph Clipper architecture, developing a library of computational geometry routines for a design rules checking (DRC) verification engine, implementing a license manager for international use, and developing a graphic test bench for the DRC engine.

System Architect for a Geographic Information System company. I was responsible for the design and implementation of GeoBlocks, the first GIS implemented solely in a relational database (Sybase). I led a team of developers in implementing a platform independent (DOS/Windows/Unix/VMS), object oriented, script driven GIS (the first of its kind at the time). Duties included development, project management, planning, budgeting, and marketing assistance.
