The mission of Rural Projects is to run a rural workspace and residency program serving artists who address technology in their work, to provide a bucolic backdrop for a period of focused studio practice, site-specific work and public exhibition opportunities for artists in residence, and to expose the local community to contemporary art.

Program Coordination : Strengthening links between the visual arts and new media program. Organizing panels of faculty to discuss the integration of programs for the betterment of student experience and learning.Teaching and mentoring : approximately 50 students, including six senior project mentees, two graduate mentees plus 20 academic advisees per 15 week semester. Students under my tutelage were regularly awarded the Dean’s Prize, the highest honor available at the undergraduate level.Leadership : Coordinator, New Media Program (2003-2006); included writing performance evaluations, organizing meetings, scheduling classes, managing portfolio reviews, launching a strategic plan for the future of the program.Faculty and staff hiring : served on six faculty hiring committees (fine art and new media artists) and four staff hiring committees. Evaluated portfolios of prospective BFA and MFA candidates at various nationwide locations, four occasions per year.General college governance : local and global committees in advisory and chairing roles including Instructional Technology Advisory Committee, Educational Policies Committee, Graduate (MFA) Steering Committee, Co-chair, Art and Design Digital Media Committee.Curriculum development : as part of Sculpture and New Media Boards of Study; developed classes in low polygon modeling, rapid prototyping and animation (3DS Max), sculpture methods, materials and concept development, senior and junior new media research seminars.

Worked in a team to produce low polygon textured models for large real-time simulations. Clients came from the aerospace industry, urban planning firms and fine art. Laser range finder scanning operator.Created virtual fly-through of the solar system for Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics.

Devised and taught creative research module in Bsc Computer and Video Games program; students developed conceptual frameworks for game artwork which they presented publicly; researched and critiqued work individually and in group settings. Taught 3D module in the creative Technology MA program; introduced concepts and trained artists to use 3D and VRML as a creative tool.

Visiting artist/lecturer taught drawing classes and worked with graduating students on one-to-one mentoring.
