Qa Manager

Miami , Fl, Us

Own test automation as a product. Drive test architecture, Review PRs, expand code review guidelines. Extend the platform and code solutions for handling timing issue, I educate developers to become better at QA and transform QAs into AQAs, Our geographically diverse team is talented and deeply connected. Bringing out new features in node.js, react, seo, accessibility, ad networks & analytics. As QA Manager I do performance reviews, personal development, matching opportunities with interests, ensure knowledge sharing, and let the team do what they do best. At the operational level I report to CTO, present operation plans quarterly to the exec team, coordinate with the Director of Product, and Directors of Technology. I enjoy organizing resources and attention towards areas where team and product metrics are developing abnormalities. Indicators can include: percentage of tickets bouncing back to developers, ticket size, time in pipeline, total number of tickets in flight, tickets created, tickets not created, and always, the number/quality of slack messages.Jun 2017 - Dec 2020, MiamiApr 2016 - May 2017, Vancouver

Quality Analyst

Miami , Fl, Us

Making things better with Selenium(java), determination (as the villain to developers' inner hero), camaraderie, and a critical eye. Agile evolution in action as part of rapidly evolving international team.Built, maintained, and expanding an automated test framework to cover an end to end UAT smoke and regression tests. The tests allows me to seem like I'm everywhere in the team. We help ensure that all the right tech and stakeholder pieces are in place before a ticket gets pulled into our one week sprints. We deliver iteratively and rapidly. The team challenge is to make sure that tickets are bite sized and release-able. This is done through a mixture of prep work, facilitation, and challenging team assumptions. Though everyone is responsible for understanding the scope of a ticket, the team knows me for having the bigger picture, attention to detail, and edge cases. Working with a strong development team and test automation means that core functionality is relatively safe and there is more to find around the edges. :-) In 2016 the QA team asked me to take on a manager hat. They are a great group of people which makes everything very easy. If you're interviewing for a role on the development team I'll dig into culture questions. Culture fit is incredibly important: less for the work that you'll be able to achieve, and more for the level of happiness that you'll achieve while doing it.
