Directed the Information Technology Services (ITS) bureau responsible for developing and supporting traditional IT and Geospatial Information System (GIS) systems, database management, and IT Operations (network, server, workstation, Exchange, security, etc.).

Provided IT consulting services including network, telecom, Active Directory automation, migration/consolidation, VoIP, security, project management, process improvement/automation, Remedy development.

Directed the staff and technical resources required to support Boise’s wide area, local area, wireless, and backup networks in addition to enterprise wide groupware applications. Developed, applied, and facilitated a strategy to deploy technology to meet the current and future needs throughout Boise’s 100+ locations. Communicated strategy to fellow directors within IT and local and remote business unit managers. Fostered teamwork, cooperation and collaboration between IT departments by engaging different departments within IT to resolve problems. Developed and managed $4.9M capital and $2.9M expense budgets required to support current and future infrastructure and systems. Personnel related activities included providing on-going feedback (to department members and members of other departments), semi-annual performance reviews, salary recommendations, and the coordination of periodic intra and inter-departmental employee appreciation/project completion celebrations. Provided opportunities for employees to obtain training to meet their current and future career goals.

Managed and supported the staff responsible for supporting the MS Exchange, Remedy, EDI, Lotus Notes, Anti-Virus, Fax, and Active Directory systems. Insured all systems for which department was responsible were stable, capable and scalable. Maintained system/version currency to guarantee vendor support when needed.
