In 2008, the company filed Bankruptcy and later merged with Home and Garden Party. My roles and responsibilities included the following: - Responsible for all month end close duties as well as consolidation package for twelve entities. - SEC reporting including consolidation of financial statements, footnotes, and review of MD&A section. - Prepared quarterly board package and monthly reporting package for parent company (Hicks & Muse) - Reviewed all subsidiary business review packages and debt covenant reporting to banks. - Managed seven direct reports including staff accountants and accounting clerks. - Administrator of Hyperion Essbase and responsible for data in financial reporting cube. - Directed Quarter and Year-end Audits by Price Waterhouse and Coopers. - Responsible for Sarbanes Oxley compliance within the Accounting Department, which included all documentation and testing.

ACE Cash Express is a Check Cashing/Payday Loan chain of retail outlets that services the bankless and underbanked populations. They had $220MM in revenue in 2005 and approx. 1,700 retail stores.Accounting Manager - Responsible for recording Pay Day Loan product to the general ledger. ($75MM revenue) - Designed and Implemented an interface that systematically recorded loan transactions to the general ledger- Supervised monthly rent payments and tax/cam reconciliations for over 1,000 lease agreements- Monitored loan receivables for over 30,000 Pay Day loans- Analyzed and recorded bad debt provision on all Pay Day loans- Liaison between the Accounting and Information Systems Departments- Monitored and recorded Fair Market Value on $80MM interest rate swap agreements- Additional responsibilities listed below:Senior Staff Accountant - Responsible for recording all entries related to the Pay Day loan product- these duties included: revenue recognition, cash related entries, and allocation of loan program costs.- Recorded interest on $155MM revolving line of credit, $40MM unsecured debt, short-term notes, and interest rate swap agreements.- Responsible for various prepaid accounts including: insurance, invoices, rent, and maintenance.
