The Metro Richmond Flying Squad is an all-volunteer group of members who provide support to our area first responders. Our members consist of current and former firefighters, police officers, business owners and citizens of the Metro Richmond area.

EMT, Cardiac and Paramedic. Crew Chief, Training Officer.

Oversee Certification/Recertification for 35,000 EMS Providers in Virginia. Coordinator/Lead Instructor for EMS Education Coordinator(EC) Certification 5-day Institute and monthly EC Updates. Oversee cognitive and psychomotor testing for new EC's statewide and work as a liaison between the Office and the 600 Educators across the State.

The mission of the NEMSEC is to promote excellence in EMS education by offering a certification for EMS education professionals through a valid and uniform process, which assesses the knowledge and skills associated with competent, relevant and structurally sound educational practices. In designing the EMS Educators Certification Services examination, the NEMSEC Board of Directors sought to define the difference between entry level and mastery level EMS educators.

Virginia HMERT Team

First full-time EMS Programs Coordinator. Implement EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate and EMT-Paramedic programs throughout consortium including in Hanover, Henrico, Chesterfield, Goochland, & Colonial Heights. Wrote and submitted Self-Study to CAAHEP/CoAEMSP and obtained initial National Accreditation of JSRCC Paramedic Programs. Oversee and coordinate 6+ Adjunct Faculty including dual-enrollment High School EMT Programs. Participated in Statewide VCCS EMS Peer Group redesign of Associate Degrees and Certificate Programs. Carried 15 Credit teaching load at Downtown Campus. Obtained Clinical Agreements with 11 Regional Hospitals and 15 EMS Agencies, creating Nursing and EMS Preceptor training program to assist in evaluating JSRCC EMS Students.

ED Paramedic

Plan, implement, coordinate and teach recertification and CE for EMS Agency personnel.
