Expertise in bacterial and mammalian cell processes. A believer in establishing research collaborations with recognized academic and government experts in cell culture & fermentation processes. Actively participated in two successful New Drug Applications (NDA) to the FDA. Directed in-house contract research and assessed on-going projects at CMOs. Member of the Board of Directors of MabNet Canada. Directed a CDMO Process Development Biologics Group consisting of approximately 30 people distributed between 2 separate sites.Most Recent focus prior to retirement: - Planning and onboarding innovative technology to keep pace with advances in developing and producing Nucleic Acid therapeutic products using single-use technologies as well as traditional manufacturing modalities- High throughput process development, continuous process improvement, including process trending, troubleshooting, analysis of input-materials quality and use of scaled-down models- Bioscience education focusing on the application of bioprocesses in various fields, with an emphasis on the cascade of interwoven and converging scientific developments that have led and are leading to exciting new technologies and applications in medicine, agriculture, industrial chemicals and other industriesCurrent:Expanding and exploring my lifelong art practise, in paint, electronic media and wood carving to understand the underlying synergy between artistic impression and scientific patterns in nature.
