I manage all things related to sustainability and ESG engagement with members and partners for IGCN.

During this internship, I played a key role in supporting Nature & Biodiversity programming within the Environment & Climate Change division. My responsibilities included drafting event briefs for the Biodiversity & Business (B&B) initiative as part of the Science-based Target Network (SBTN) outreach program in Australia & New Zealand. I provided crucial support for the Melbourne B&B Networking Event, conducted research on SBTN and the Taskforce for Nature-related Financial Disclosure (TNFD) for a blog post, and assisted in establishing the SBTN working group. Additionally, I contributed to drafting the proposal for the SBTN roadshow scheduled to commence in 2024.Beyond these activities, I actively contributed to other programs and events such as the Climate Ambition Accelerator, 21 Days to COP28, Business and Human Rights Dialogue on Australia's Net Zero Authority, and the Business & Circularity Networking Event.I successfully published a blog post on corporate sustainability disclosure for nature under the SBTN and TNFD frameworks. This piece integrates research findings and insights from prominent stakeholders, focusing particularly on Australian businesses.

In this role, I supported Timor Leste's Water for Women (W4W) program by analyzing survey data on Gender Equality, Diversity, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) aspects of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in rural communities. I created clear data presentations for local partners and conducted qualitative data analysis from interviews and focus groups for WASH programs in healthcare facilities in Timor and schools in Papua New Guinea (PNG), producing baseline and end-line reports. Additionally, I analyzed quantitative data from water tanks in Timor to provide insights on water and climate resiliency in rural communities.I developed easily digestible charts, graphs, and presentation decks for WaterAid, highlighting their impacts for local partners and stakeholders, and authored written reports on WASH in schools and healthcare facilities in Timor and PNG.

In my role, I oversaw the management, planning, and execution of research projects across the production line to achieve cost reductions. I communicated research outcomes to C-level executives to influence strategic business decisions and implement systemic changes. I coordinated with field operators to ensure seamless integration of these changes, thereby enhancing production efficiency.I have driven significant advancements in cost reduction and efficiency within the production line, secured a new industry client, and successfully implemented multiple new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

In this role, I led research initiatives encompassing all aspects of insect biology within the production process. My responsibilities include designing and executing research projects, coordinating experiments with field operators, analyzing data, preparing research reports, and identifying areas for improvement and troubleshooting.I have significantly enhanced the company's knowledge base and intellectual capital through my contributions. I successfully implemented an effective feeding regime that notably improved insect growth. Additionally, I have fostered collaborations with external organizations and supervised several student interns in research roles.

In this role, I led multiple research projects applying microbiological techniques to enhance the biological performance of insects used in production. I innovated and applied novel techniques in a pioneering research area with limited existing literature.I successfully designed and implemented a large-scale preservation system utilizing fermentation techniques to enhance the quality of feed derived from food waste, thereby promoting improved insect growth.

In this role, I contributed to designing laboratory practice lesson plans and provided supervision and mentoring to students in conducting laboratory work. I evaluated students' lab reports and performances.I also spearheaded the development and implementation of a new learning module featuring independent-group-research activities. This initiative empowered students to explore their research interests in applied microbiology, culminating in innovative final lab projects.

Through the UN SDG Co-creation Program, I was chosen to conduct research at Osaka University, Japan, focusing on SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy. I collaborated with professors and international researchers to design and execute a research project, gaining valuable insights into practical approaches to addressing UN SDG challenges.My research identified a promising new biofuel source, which I presented at an international seminar. This achievement led to the establishment of a sustained research initiative for future students and researchers.

I was chosen as a participant in the University of Tsukuba Summer Research Program through a rigorous international selection process. During the program, I conducted advanced research in molecular biology aimed at future medical applications. I collaborated closely with esteemed international experts, professors, researchers, and fellow students in the field.My research culminated in a successful presentation at an international seminar, where I shared my findings with faculty members and fellow participants from around the world.

I completed this internship as part of my undergraduate work-integrated learning program, securing a position at UNESCO's World Heritage site, the Borobudur Temple in Indonesia. During this experience, I applied a science-based approach to stone artifact conservation, focusing on researching natural biodeterioration processes. I collaborated closely with local researchers on interdisciplinary studies and gained valuable insights into traditional stone conservation practices.I successfully concluded the internship program with a commendable outcome. I identified a potential new natural ingredient for traditional stone preservation methods, which was a rewarding contribution to the preservation of this historical artifact.
