About Gregor Luthe

I am a chemist, toxicologist and nanotechnologist. Above all, I am an inventor and founder. I studied chemistry, biology and physics at the University of Münster in Germany. In 2002, I received my PhD from the Free University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Then I went to Trondheim, Norway, as a Marie Curie Fellow for promising scientists of the European Community. There I conducted research at the Norwegian University of Technology and Science. In addition, I was also a director and shareholder of the Chiron company. In 2005, I went to Berkeley and the University of Iowa, USA, to study toxicology as a Feodor Lynen fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. In 2009 I founded the company Wind plus Sonne GmbH, which specializes in technical and chemical solutions for clean water, climate change, raw material upcycling and the circular economy. Two years later, I was appointed chair of the new NanoBioInterface at the Saxion University of Applied Science in Enschede, the Netherlands. I have been working as an independent entrepreneur since 2019. I founded the company Smart Material Printing B.V. in 2014, where I develop my ideas into market-ready products.
