• MAINTAINS SECURITY OF AN ASSIGNED POST (AS DEFINED BY THE FACILITY), REMAINING ALERT AT ALL TIMES AND TAKING THE NECESSARY ACTION TO PREVENT ESCAPES. MONITORS PATIENT ACTIVITIES AND INTERVENING AS NEEDED TO CONTROL DISRUPTIVE AND/OR VIOLENT BEHAVIORS.• MONITORS AND CONTROLS ALL COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS, SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS, EMERGENCY SIGNAL SYSTEMS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: GATES AND DOORS, WEAPONS, FIRE ALARM SYSTEM, THERMAL DETECTION SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC LOCKING SYSTEM, CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION SYSTEM, COMPUTER SYSTEMS, PERIMETER-ALERT SYSTEM, PUBLIC ADDRESS (PA) SYSTEM, TWO-WAY RADIO SYSTEM, AND MECHANICAL RESTRAINING DEVICES.• CONDUCTS FORMAL AND INFORMAL COUNTS OF PATIENTS AND REPORTS ANY DISCREPANCIES TO THE APPROPRIATE PERSONNEL.• OBSERVES AND MONITORS PATIENT BEHAVIORS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE FACILITY. RESPONDS TO EMERGENCY CALLS IN PATIENT AREAS TO DE-ESCALATE AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIORS, CONTROL FIGHTS AND RIOTS, PREVENT ESCAPES AND ASSISTS CLINICAL STAFF TO PREVENT HARM OR INJURY FROM VIOLENT PATIENTS UTILIZING ESTABLISHED AGGRESSION CONTROL TECHNIQUES. PARTICIPATES IN SEARCHING PATIENT AREAS FOR CONTRABAND AND OTHER UNAUTHORIZED ITEMS.

Supervise and coordinate activities of clerks who open, sort, and route mail, and prepare outgoing material for mailing. Responsibilities include the safeguarding and security of 2 facilities, all retrograde and prograde mail (in and outgoing mail) for RC North, enforcing preventive theft programs for facilities and employees; Emplaced and enforced policies and procedures to insure all accountable mail (insured, certified, and registered mail) are secured and stored separately; enforced internal security measures with camera systems to safeguard mail at all times; Responsible include the training, assignment and supervision of employees to sort, process and quality assurance inspect mail or acceptance by the United States Postal Service (USPS)

Provided armed installation Force Protection/Security for the US Army in support of United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), NATO, and EU (European Union) operations. Controlled entry and exit of installation; inspected individuals and vehicles entering the secured area for proper identification, permits, proper documentation on board and the presence of illegal items or other contraband.

Provide armed installation Force Protection/Security for the US Army in support of Area Support Group in Kuwait (ASG-KU).
