Transportation Supervisor
Initially employed in the company’s Management Training Program and upon completion, assigned to transportation dispatcher. Responsible for working with 14 drivers, scheduling both inbound and outbound freight. Served as first point of contact for all customers gaining new business and building client relationships to grow sales and profits.Select Accomplishments:• Maintained all DOT information for all CDL truck drivers to ensure compliance• Answered customer incoming calls and consulted with clients to set up pickups, schedule deliveries, and problem solve to ensure outstanding customer service• Interviewed, hired, trained and on-boarded employees, setting high expectations and explaining requirements of the job, focusing on impeccable customer service• Coordinated the maintenance on all vehicles and equipment to ensure availability of trucks to meet all schedules• Converted to CRO software, to optimize delivery routes that improved driver productivity and efficiency• Improved metrics by 25% and reduced customer pick up time from 1-2 days to less than 24 hours, significantly increasing customer satisfaction• Based on excellent performance, assigned to a smaller facility in Gainesville as GM, managing 2 drivers and 18 full time employees overseeing all operations, P & L management, safety, DOT, and OSHA• Achieved $850K over target in Gainesville, year-one based on leading a scrap metal clean up, highly successful; at the end of year-two, attained $500K over target, receiving top performance bonuses• Requested to troubleshoot operational issues at a larger facility in Cartersville; oversaw day to day operations, with 26 employees, and dispatching drivers• Utilized the COR software in Cartersville that improved processes, streamlined operations and optimized customer pick-ups, that maximized sales, profits and customer satisfaction
