As a member of the Human Resources team, I provide leadership in daily operations, supporting the Chief Talent Officer and maintaining optimal staffing levels for Certified and Classified staff throughout the District. As a key contributor to the District Leadership Team, I collaborate with various teams and programs, ensuring efficient operations and aligning staffing strategies with organizational goals. In 2023, I earned my Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.My teaching career began in 2001 as a 4th-grade teacher and serving as the varsity girls track and football coach. In 2005, I started a 17-year tenure with Westside Community Schools, eventually becoming the Director of K-21 Professional Learning in 2014 and concurrently serving as the Director of Elementary Teaching and Learning from 2019 to 2021. Prior to my directorial responsibilities included four years as an elementary administrator and five years teaching 5th and 6th grade while coaching high school football.With a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Morningside College, a Master's in Educational Leadership, a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College, and a Doctorate in Education (Educational Administration) from The University of Nebraska at Omaha, my commitment to education extends beyond formal education. In April 2023, I earned my PHR certification and achieved Adaptive Schools trainer status in June 2022.I have also served as an adjunct professor at UNO's College of Education and am in a similar role at Peru State College. Past leadership roles include MOEC Professional Learning Chair and President of Omaha PDK chapter 0116. I currently serve as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Learning Forward Nebraska Board (2020).
