Hand in hand with this is Safety. The open road is the single most hazardous workplace. Equipment management is tantamount to good performance. Equipment must be inventoried regularly, daily. Fluid levels must be measured accurately, and handled with utmost care and deliberate action. Spills must be prevented with all effort. Residue left behind on the ground or on equipment must be minimized to the utmost. Valves and pumps must be shut and/or powered down carefully. Fluids must be loaded with care and smart attention payed to levels and weights. When operating on a location where there is a company representative or hand in place the driver, who is absolutely there to perform a service, will take and heed to directions given by the rep. Upon entering a disposal facility the driver will use care and caution at all times while following directions by a disposal rep who may be on location, or will do the same when the location is not manned by looking for signage, reading and following written instructions. The driver will seek to represent the best of all the facets involving the drilling project from location construction to production which is a project that averages in cost in the many ten's of millions of dollars. This is my attitude as a driver and these are my instructions, among many other details, to any trainee, or team that I have led in a project from fresh water stacking, to frac water removal, to lease water disposal, to mud transfer or disposal, or to frac tank winching, setting, pick up, or clean out.
