Responsible for strategy, policy, and execution of the defense of the Defense Information Services Agency’s (DISA) over $25 billion and over 3 million user global network and it’s over 150 Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) customers. • Transformed the defense from network based security to a fusion of end point, network and boundary data increasing the effectiveness of the defenders by over 100%.• Driving tool automation for defensive mitigation actions in order to drive down the number of analysts required by 50%.

The Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) program is a $1 billion system that completely revolutionizes the Department of Defense's (DoD) IT transport and cyber defense systems. As the lead system in the Joint Information Environment (JIE), this system standardizes and centralizes the operational environment for network operators and cyber defenders, reducing the attack surface exposed to the adversary and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of all aspects of cyber operations. I led a team of over 40 government personnel and over 200 contractors that aggressively expanded the physical footprint and the number of users protected by the system while improving the overall system effectiveness by interfacing with the operators to develop innovative ways to configure various tools to provide more intuitive and information rich dashboards and reports.

Lead a team over 70 personnel who monitor, fuse, and report to senior leaders (CEO and C-suite) the status DISA's global network supporting all DoD services, Combatant Commands, and Agencies while simultaneously synchronizing maintenance, upgrades, and integration of new capabilities on the production environment to reduce the impact to the user.

Earned a Masters of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies while learning advanced strategic thought and planning. Authored a paper on deterrence in the cyber domain and its effects when it fails.

Dedicated leader of a 400+ person team that operates, maintains, and defends the US Army unclassified and classified networks in the US NORTHCOM and US SOUTHCOM Areas of Responsibility. Within that scope, the team directly supports up to 1.2 million Army affiliated users with authentication, DNS, e-mail, and transport services. The team is also responsible for the defense and response to incidents on these networks. During my two year tenure I lead significant change in mission and scope. Four distinct organizations (the CONUS TNOSC, the South TNOSC, RCERT CONUS and RCERT South) merged to form the 2nd Regional Cyber Center – Western Hemisphere. This new organization consolidated the operations, maintenance, defense and incident response missions under one leader. To accomplish this, I led a whole sale culture change to form the different organizations into one cohesive team. During this period of change, we never stopped supporting the user or upgrading the network and its defensive architecture. We also set the stage for the single biggest change to the foundation of the Army and Air Force networks since the late 1990s. Installation of the Joint Regional Security Stack architecture will revolutionize IT service delivery and cyberspace defense for Army, Air Force and DISA. I led the operations work group to establish the processes and procedures required to effectively manage the network and quickly restore service when there is a service interruption.

Signal Chief of the Pacific Theater ASCC Contingency Command Post (CCP) responsible for leading 14 signal Soldiers who coordinate, synchronize and direct the signal support to the CCP; supports the RSO&I for multinational, joint and land forces by conducting coordination with host nation communication authorities, and integrating G6 signal support for sites designated by the GCC; communicates network statuses, and manages signal resources within the AO; continually assesses the CCP's ability to meet battle command and information exchange requirements; manages contingency spectrum operations within the AO and AO network directories (VTC, telephone, SIPR, NIPR Coalition, Mission Network and Internet); serves as senior technical adviser to the CCP Director for all information technology initiatives.

Responsible for data, voice, and video connectivity for over 100 users on networks across the full spectrum of classifications. Planned and executed deployed satellite based communications from multiple Asian countries in support of bi-lateral theater level exercises. Thorough knowledge of the TROJAN satellite system and the networks it provides.

Actively managed and upgraded a forward deployed satellite based communications architecture in northern Iraq consisting of over 60 ground stations that supported over 20,000 users. Intimate knowledge of JNTC architecture and associated voice and data protocols. During the period of management I lead a team that engineered and installed a Riverbed network acceleration solution improving throughput by over 30%.

Instructed 120 students in the fundamentals of mathematical modeling needed to pursue further studies in systems engineering. Served as a key member of the Operations Research Center (ORCEN). Worked as the lead analyst on multiple projects for multiple organizations in the Department of Defense. The primary areas of research focused on predictive analysis, dynamic programming and simulation.

Led armor soldiers and cavalry scouts in various positions of increasing levels of responsibility from tank and scout platoon leader to cavalry troop commander with staff officer experience in both supply and maintenance positions. Successfully planned, resourced and lead multiple peacetime training missions that accomplished organizational goals and stayed within resource constraints.
