Upon graduating High School, I joined the U.S. Army Reserves as a Military Police Officer. I was deployed to Iraq in 2003 when my unit completed over 500 combat support missions and over 1,000,000 miles driven in support of combat missions. In 2005 I deployed to Afghanistan where I was assigned as a Force Protection Specialist on a Tactical HUMINT Team which helped to gather intelligence on high value targets and other mission related information. In 2008, my unit was again deployed but I remained behind and served as an acting team leader and squad leader in the absence of NCOs until new ones were assigned. These assignments gave me the opportunity to train new soldiers as well as a unique opportunity for different leadership roles and experiences outside of my own profession. 2006 I worked for EZ Mart as a Store General Manager with responsibility for hiring and sicipline of employees, budgeting, audits, product ordering, and other duties of a retail gas station.In 2007 I worked as a Corrections Officer, where I obtained my state certification in corrections.In 2008 I was employed by Securitas Security Services at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant. We were charged with the protection of the facility and required to meet requirements and regulations set by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for the protection of nuclear power plants. I was promoted to an Alarm Monitor who acted as the main communication point and dispatch. I was also promoted to the role of Reserve Sergeant where I would fill the role of Responce Force Leader. In 2013 I was hired by the Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and Printing as a Police Officer. Our role is to protect our national currency by providing protection of the people, property of the BEP, and the currency we produce while enforcing federal law and agency regulations.
