Recruited to revamp Circadian product and marketing focus because of strong subject matter expertise and software development experience. Cofounded Interval Data Systems when acquisition of Circadian was dropped.

Established energy conservation consulting firm in 1998 to supply services to utilities, multi-facility property managers and engineering service companies.

Joined a start-up Energy Services Company. Established their energy audit department, building automated Office tools to provide preliminary audit (used to sign up prospects), to Proposal Development (used to sell the project scope), to Monitoring and Verification (used to manage continuing operations at customer). Managed fieldwork teams of 4-8 staff conducting energy audits. After Boston Edison acquired the company, I was assigned to research and development in a pilot program for real-time pricing. Supervising a team of three, I was principal developer of PowerSpec. This application consisted of three modules: PowerQuick (assessment of energy conservation potential based upon billing data); PowerCmart (Interval Meter data analytics); and PowerView (Real-time price monitoring).

Original member of the management team for an Energy Monitoring and Control System contractor. Researched and selected product lines that included Novar Control Systems and Leviton powerline carrier systems. Developed client relationships. Managed proposal development, energy audits, system design and installation. Managed subcontractor relationships on job site. I also developed my first full-scale database application, integrating data collection from the Novar Controls system; centrally storing trend logs in a relational database and providing graphical analysis for HVAC system diagnostic.

Reorganized and redirected a large, problem-ridden branch business that remotely managed 35 school facilities using a time-shared, JC80 facility management computer. I was responsible dispatching service technicians and specialty contractors to maintain customer operations. A major task completed after my first year was to rewrite control algorithms and processes for reliability and increased effectiveness. I also established the branch offices energy monitoring and reporting system to report monthly energy savings for the customer.
