Asst. Business Administrator, Cfo, Senior Director Capital Projects, Director Of Communications
CurrentAs Jersey City's highest-ranking non-elected official, I helped guide the rebirth of Jersey City from an aging, bankrupt city, suffering long urban decay, into one of America's top cities to live and work--while becoming America's most diverse city. I report directly to our Chief Executive Officer (Mayor) and Chief Operation Officer (City Manager), bringing my skills in organizational leadership, community relations, operations, and administration to my projects.I love to build things that matter and add value -- as Senior Leader for Capital Projects, I have initiated and managed the City's largest capital improvement projects, totaling over $350 million invested, while saving the City over $188 million through inventive private equity financing, and protecting our resident's assets by putting off the construction risk to third party developer construction. One of my current projects is the construction of a new Municipal Complex, consisting of four city buildings with over 200,000 square feet of office space and 400 parking spots--all to will be completed within 6 years. The finished City Hall Annex is already driving economic development into the heart of our City -- while saving taxpayers money by relocating City offices from their current high-priced rented spaces.Director of Communications -- Managing the team responsible for all aspects of Jersey City’s official communications, including the oversight of JCTV cable and online television production, branding, social media, kiosks, marketing, PR, emergency notification system (texts and phone call alerts), and extensive website. Through effective organizational leadership, team-building, and content coaching, social media impressions went from an average 335k per month to 9 million per month over three platforms, with associated increases in followers, engagement, and brand.
