Technical Director For The Lansce Accelerator Modernization Project (Lamp)
The Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE) is an 800 MeV proton accelerator providing the scientific community with intense sources of neutrons and protons to perform experiments to ensure the safety and surety of the nuclear stockpile, support civilian research and the production of medical and research radioisotopes. The proton accelerator supporting these experiments first produced full beam in 1972. The LANSCE Accelerator Modernization Project (LAMP) will update several of the accelerator components to ensure the long term viability of the facility. Another goal of the LAMP upgrades is to decrease the yearly maintenance and startup time, increasing the total beam production time for the user community. This includes updating the Cockcroft-Walton based injector to a Radio-Frequency Quadripole (RFQ) and updating the Drift Tube Linac (DTL) section of the accelerator to a more serviceable design and to include more and better beam diagnostics to aid machine tuning. As the Technical Director I will be overseeing the activities of several technical leads responsible for the accelerator physics, beam diagnostics, injector, DTL, ancillary systems, component installation and removal, and facility upgrades. With my team of technical leads I will lead the technical maturation of the LAMP components and ensure that the technical project meets all requirements while adhering to budget and schedule constraints.

In this role I lead a team dedicated to the technical development of the linear induction accelerator for the Scorpius radiography system as part of the Advanced Sources and Detectors (ASD) Project.
Scorpius Accelerator System Lead
The Scorpius radiography system is a 20 MeV Linear Induction Accelerator for the U1a complex at the Nevada National Security Site. As Technology Lead for the Accelerator Subsystem I am responsible for overseeing the design, technology maturation, fabrication, qualification and assembly of all components between the injector and downstream transport of the radiography system.
Mo-99 Program Lead And R&D Engineer
Responsible for the coordination and oversight of the National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA) Office of Materials Management and Minimization programs at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) for the domestic production of the medial radioisotope Mo-99 without the use of highly enriched uranium. These projects entail cooperation with several national laboratories including Argonne National Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and Savannah River National Laboratory. As part of this program, LANL Is currently supporting SHINE Medical Technologies (http://shinemed.com/) for Mo-99 production using a subcritical accelerator driven uranyl sulfate solution and NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes (http://northstarnm.com/) for producing Mo-99 through a photonuclear reaction using electron accelerators.
