Maintain quality procedures and processes for workers performing the refinishing of housing at the Quantico Marine Corps Base.Determine parts required per job as well as survey work needed per unit. Initiate new purchases, evaluate expedites and push outs based on MRP report.Place purchase orders based on business requirements up to $50,000.00 with current sign off matrix. (Gain approval for purchase orders above said amount) Work closely with Quality to ensure first articles and production material meet current specifications. Disposition non-conforming material with the MRB team.Initiate quotes and obtain best pricing through negotiating blanket orders, contracts and work regularly with suppliers in low cost regions. Place orders for indirect material through the requisition process and ensure the correct budget/department is charged appropriately. Work closely with R&D and project management to facilitate accurate orders and drive new products to completion.Operate in a lean manufacturing facility with emphasis on inventory turns and days of supply.Manage approximately 30 suppliers. Focus on limiting the supplier base for spend leveraging.Assist Materials Manager with annual sourcing savings through developing suppliers in low cost regions and year over year savings with key domestic suppliers.Perform supplier QBR's and visit suppliers as needed with QA for vendor qualifications and audits.Lead weekly conference calls with counterparts in China.Update Materials Manager weekly with material status in order to construct build plan for manufacturing.
