Technology and innovation was always my passion and I believe it was my destiny to work in the technology industry. In my pursuit to fulfill my goals I enrolled in Tech Elevator studying Java in their accelerated coding bootcamp. After I graduate in April, I’m hopeful to obtain a junior developer position at a company that values teamwork, diversity, and continuing education for all employees.I have always enjoyed disassembling items and found such reward in reading about the mechanics of everything...big, small, basic, complicated...it really did not matter. (I should probably mention that reassembling the objects I dissected was optional) In my previous profession I was given the opportunity to build contraptions to aid the workflow for the employees I oversaw. One such time I observed the team struggling with bagging the rubbish effectively. I was able to remedy the problem by designing and building a device to hold a garbage bag open so only one person was needed to fill it. After high school I enrolled in a local community college for computer game design and simulation. After my second semester, I was hired as an intern at a software company in Pittsburgh. With this opportunity I evaluated testing connection managers and organize a massive data inventory of phones still in the beginning testing stages. After my internship, I returned to my hometown and partnered with my father to expand our family business that primarily focused in environmental hazardous waste cleanup. I supervised the active job sites, sometimes working with 10 employees, and ensured all state and federal required documents were up to date and organized appropriately. From my experience working with my father I learned several invaluable skills including completing pre-demolition surveys, managing active asbestos removal job sites, and networking/marketing to obtain and maintain a steady source of referrals and revenue.
