As the security shift manager I handled all coaching and training on the shift. I had an open door policy as well as conducting a one on one meeting with all employees on the shift. I encouraged feedback and suggestions for day to day operations so that the employees were included in change. I empowered officers by allowing them to make decisions when dealing with a situation after sometime of shadowing alongside them. worked as a resident unit officer in a maximum security prison ensuring the safety of fellow officers, inmates and as well as the local community. I was on the state Emergency Response Team as a team leader and instructor for building clearing and hostage rescue.

Tawas, Mi.

Patrol the local waterways enforcing the laws under the Marine Act 303. Coordinated and instructed local boater safety courses. Conducted local livery inspections at all boat rentals within Iosco County. As a recreation deputy I patrolled the trail ways within the county enforcing local and state laws. Responded to all emergency calls within assigned patrol areas within the county of Iosco. I worked as a correctional deputy/bailiff within the Iosco County Jail and courthouse.

Served in the United States Marine Corps for four years as a cannon crewman and forward observer. Received the combat action ribbon during the Gulf War in Kuwait and Iraq. Received a Meritorious Mast for achieving "Top Gun" from Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel H.W. Evans on 11/15/1989. Received the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal during operations in the Gulf War. Received the Good Conduct Medal during wartime service. Received the Blue Nose Ribbon while conducting operations above the Arctic Circle during Operation Express Sword. Received the National Defense Medal and served in multiple conflict zones. Received an Honorable Discharge on 10/14/1991 from the United States Marine Corps.
