About Gregory Dyer

I am a device engineer and technical lead, with a preference for RF engineering. My career has encompassed design, modeling, and realization of devices and systems spanning the RF to infrared domains. Although this characterization may appear rather broad, I have technical expertise in both hardware and software development projects, in fields as diverse as RF remote sensing, far infrared devices, focal plane imaging arrays, and RF components. My preferences lean toward product development, but I am comfortable working across the product research and development lifecycle.

Resonant Inc., A Murata Company Jul 2018 - Sep 2024
    San Mateo, California, Us
I am responsible for developing and maintaining integrated object-oriented surface acoustic wave component design and data analysis software, with a focus on modeling for high power, high reliability telecommunications applications. These efforts require synthesis of measurement and modeling activities to ensure accurate model-to-measure correlation.
  • Raytheon
    Senior System Engineer
    Raytheon Jun 2016 - Jul 2018
    Arlington, Va, Us
I performed as a lead or contributing systems engineer for multiple visible and IR focal plane projects, with the responsibility of managing requirements, scoping technical gaps, planning qualification, and analyzing focal plane data. My responsibilities broadly encompassed hardware development, though I engaged in several non-production software projects focused upon non-trivial analysis of large data sets.
  • Sandia National Laboratories
    Senior Member Of Technical Staff
Sandia National Laboratories Apr 2014 - May 2016
    Albuquerque, Nm, Us
I was responsible for maintaining and developing simulation and analysis software for remote sensing systems. My efforts spanned algorithm development to integration and testing of system level models in high-fidelity production software.
  • Sandia National Laboratories
    Postdoctoral Researcher
Sandia National Laboratories Feb 2011 - Apr 2014
    Albuquerque, Nm, Us
I designed, characterized and modeled the performance of far infrared optoelectronic semiconductor devices. Active control of plasmonic crystals was demonstrated and then validated using a transmission line circuit model formalism I developed with a colleague.
  • Uc Santa Barbara
    Graduate Student Researcher, Allen Group
Uc Santa Barbara Mar 2006 - Dec 2010
    Santa Barbara, Ca, Us
I engineered far infrared detectors with figures of merit commensurate with the state-of-the-art. This work led to continued and enhanced funding for a collaborative project between a private sector customer and an R&D group at Sandia National Laboratories.
  • Uc Santa Barbara
    Summer Undergraduate Research Mentor
Uc Santa Barbara Jun 2007 - Aug 2009
    Santa Barbara, Ca, Us
From 2007 to 2009, I participated as a summer research mentor in the INSET program. INSET is a 10-week program devoted to providing university research experience and skill development for students transferring into the UC system from community colleges.
