  General Graphene has the modest goal of changing the world, one sheet of graphene at a time. You're probably thinking something along the lines of "great, but what the hell is graphene?"​well, graphene is a two dimensional polycrystalline lattice comprised of pure carbon that resembles chicken wire. But here's the catch: graphene is two dimensional because it is but a single atom thick, and its properties are so extraordinary that many regard it to be the holy grail of materials science. If the 20th century was the age of plastics, the 21st century will be the age of graphene. Graphene is the lightest, strongest, thinnest, most thermally and electrically conductive material ever discovered. It is also impermeable, antimicrobial, non-corrosive, transparent, inert to the human body and environmentally safe. Graphene's potential applications are limited only by the imagination. But there's a problem (you knew there had to be a catch, right?): as a practical matter it doesn't exist, at least not in a form or at a price that is commercially viable. General Graphene saw this as an engineering problem and set out to find a way to manufacture large area, high quality, low cost sheets of graphene. And that's exactly what we did.The question isn't whether graphene will change the world, but when. At General Graphene, we think the answer is now.
