Member of the Miranda Orr lab in the Internal Medicine Department, Section of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine. Research focused on cellular senescence in Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias.

Part of the bioprinting team under Dr. Sang Jin Lee with a research focus on the bone-tooth and bone-cartilage interfaces as well as the quantification and optimization of hydrogels to be used for bioprinting.

Tutor for Student Athlete Services. Taught subjects such as introductory chemistry, biology, anatomy, physiology, etc.

Research projects involving the mechanical testing of orthopedic cadaver specimens including the spine and pelvis. Mechanically tested range of motion (Kuka robot) and screw pull out strength (MTS) comparing the use of different screw types and trajectories for lumbar spinal fusion. Masters thesis topic included a biomechanical comparison of intrapelvic and extrapelvic fixation techniques for acetabular fractures (MTS). Extensively involved in experimental design for several other projects including ankle fracture, cervical spine disc replacement, and femoroplasty.

Tutored other undergraduate students in math, physics, anatomy, etc. Helped other students while learning to convey complicated ideas in every day language. Improved my patience, interpersonal skills, and knowledge of subject matter.

(June 2013 - June 2014) Assistant to Dr. Joseph Zeni with his research on knee osteoarthritis and symmetry. Modified LabView code to collect force data from a Wii Balance Board and provide biofeedback. Wrote study protocol for a project to validate the Wii Balance Board as a research tool, assisted data collections for various projects, and analyzed data. Presented a poster on our research at the University of Delaware CBER day and gave a podium presentation at the 2014 GCMAS conference. Second author on manuscript published in the Journal of Gait and Posture http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0966636215000260(June 2012 - May 2013) Assistant to Dr. William Rose and graduate student Kimberly Ashton with their research on cerebral blood flow. Mapped out a 3D representation of cerebral venous anatomy using the Visible Human Project and MatLab. Incorporated GE LOGIQ Ultrasound into our experiments. Helped Ms. Ashton collect data and complete her thesis. Twice presented a poster on our research at undergraduate research symposiums.
