I have been in the Entertainment Industry since the 80’s. I was fortunate enough to get an internship/apprentice position while still in high school. I was able to rise through the ranks and by the time I hit college, I was already a Journeyman, and the need for skilled personnel was so great that I continued my career path along the same path. With the advent of the computer being born, I was able to be on the forefront of technology that migrated into production. Upon graduating, Dallas became a hotbed of activity in the movie industry where we shot the likes of Robocop, Born on the Forth of July, JFK, Any Given Sunday, etc. I then began to pursue live events like sports, stage tours, and Broadway musicals. I was also a pioneer in both the analog to digital conversion and the standard definition to HD format change. I was also at the nucleus of the action here in Dallas at Texas Instruments with digital semiconductor chip technology.I have worked for many of the biggest names in the industry. Too many to list, but some accolades include but are not limited to: running camera for CBS Sports for several Dallas Cowboys games, on tour with Backstreet Boys & Pink, and done video capturing, formatting, editing and display for Phantom of The Opera. I am familiar with all aspects of video. I am versed in all the subtle engineering variables such as studio live/on-air broadcast, ENG, IMAG, web-casting/streaming, compression & archival, satellite uplink/downlink, scripting & story-boarding, captioning/subtitling & teleprompting, graphics & display, control room & remote production trucks, and post production. I have worked in almost every facet of that department; from Director/board switcher to operator/cable page. Although I am familiar with all positions, I find most comfortable as a camera operator. That particular position calls for lightning fast intercom interpretation from the Director/switcher which has little margin for error.
