Assisted the intermediate financial accounting professor by hosting weekly meetings with students, contributing to a research paper, and facilitating exams.

During my internship, I worked within NFTS for the TARDI team. I utilized Microsoft excel in order to model debt and amortize interest under the constant yield method. I also completed a summer long project pertaining to passthrough securities and the process of obtaining their prepayment speeds. At the end of my internship I was able to present my findings to the team in order to aid them in future projects.

At Plante Moran, I worked within the tax department for a 8-week internship program, which resulted in a full-time offer. As an intern, I worked with CaseWare and CCH Axces in order to file federal tax returns for many different partnerships, corporations, nonprofits, and high net worth individuals. I was tasked with creating and completing many schedules and forms as well as transferring PBC information into excel documents. Additionally, I strengthened my communication skills by meeting with both partners and staff in order to complete my projects.

During my summer internship at Hulse & Associates PC I was tasked with creating the financial statements for POP Realty Corporation. I worked with Intuit QuickBooks to enter client receipts and disbursements, reconcile cash, and prepare year end journal entries. I Utilized Microsoft Excel in order to reconcile intercompany accounts. Using this data I added all the necessary information to the corporation, as well as, their sub corporations financial statements. After completing the financial statements I learned Lacerte tax software in order to properly file their 2015 tax return, which was on extension. In the final weeks of my internship I met with the non-profit investigative journalism organization, Project Veritas on strategic. I listened and was able to provide my own ideas as the executives set new plans and future financial goals.

Carried golf bags and gave strategic advice to members throughout their rounds. Caddying is an incredible opportunity to network myself with many adults. It has helped me to further develop my communications skills as well.
