About Gregory J. Cost

Greg is the Vice President of Biology at Addition Therapeutics where he develops and uses novel transgene integration technologies. Before joining Addition, Greg was at Metagenomi where he built the Genome Editing department to characterize, develop, and apply a suite of new RNA-guided nucleases and transposes. While a Principal Scientist at Casebia Therapeutics, he created new therapies for hematological disorders using CRISPR/Cas9-based gene editing. Greg worked at Sangamo BioSciences for ten years supervising a group of scientists and research associates focused on applying zinc-finger nuclease technology to engineer mammalian genomes. He was a Damon Runyon post-doctoral fellow studying repetitive DNA recombination at the University of California, Berkeley with Dr. Nicholas Cozzarelli. Greg earned his Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins University for work on human retrotransposon replication with Dr. Jef Boeke, continuing his studies at the Institut Pasteur in Paris. He has a BS in chemistry from Xavier University.Specialties: Genetic engineering, cell line engineering, gene therapy, cell therapy, DNA repair, zinc-finger nucleases, CRISPR-Cas9, monoclonal antibody
