About Gregory Jack
I attended the University of Utah for my undergraduate degree and obtained a double major in German and International Studies with a minor in Philosophy. I pursued that degree because I served as a volunteer in Germany for two years prior to my university education, where I focused on mastering the language. I was amazed by the vast cultural diversity in Germany and wanted to know more about the world. As part of my undergraduate experience, I returned to Germany to volunteer with refugee housing in the city Kiel. I appreciate the connections I made with refugees and find their individual stories valuable. I know that policy directly affects refugees' situations, so I later interned in the United States Senate in Washington, D.C. to better understand the policy process. I fell in love with the public sector because the workers around me were well educated, constantly learning, and aiming toward betterment in society. I want to contribute to the public in that environment, which led me to my studies as a Master of Public Administration (MPA) at Brigham Young University. After obtaining my MPA, I launched into my current fellowship with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), where I am engaged in the federal planning, programming, budgeting, and evaluation (PPBE) process for weapons activities. I am seeking to continue work in an administrative role with the nuclear security enterprise after my fellowship with the NNSA concludes in June 2022.
