My job duties are but not limited to, Organizing and assigning work orders using the Hansen system. Making sure that all employees have all safety gear on and all job sites and traffic patterns are set up safely. Schedule and complete Miss Utility orders by calling the service or doing a online ticket. Direct contact with customers answering questions, concerns and complaints. Filling out storehouse requisitions and timesheets. Evaluating employees performance semi annually and doing final performance evaluations on the computer and also having counseling sessions and writing job improvement plans to help employees that need improvement. Working in inclimate weather and going on a 24 hour stand by shift that works 2pm to 10pm. Working during times of city shutdowns and maintain an alpha status. Checking jobs completed by crew and turning in pavement requests. Installing, repairing or replacing valves and valve boxes, water mains, water service lines, meters, vaults, sampling stations and flushing stations. locating valves, water lines and mains with electronic equipment. Shutting water off at residential properties for emergencies and water main breaks. Driving all types of city vehicles, heavy equipment and machinery. Ensuring all work is done in a safe and timely matter and all supplies and equipment was accounted for. Having direct contact with fire marshals and community service boards. Being Directly responsible for a crew of 9 employees with the repair or replacement of over 3100 fire hydrants. Scheduling the testing of fire hydrants and entering the acquired data into the Hansen database. Working overtime when needed and responding to emergency calls on weekends. Interpreting drawings and locating I.D. numbers using the arc reader system. These are some of my duties but I am required to perform anything deemed necessary for my job.
