Recognized technical expert in the OMS/RCS System as it pertains to ground processing and flight operations environment at the launch Pad. Responsible for fluid, mechanical, and electrical systems to hazardous fluid (hypergolic) and High Pressure (HP) gas systems utilizing Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessels (COPV’s). Understands interactions between interconnected subsystems, and the effects of individual component failure modes to safe and optimum system performance. Responsible for the servicing, de-servicing, operating, maintaining, and modifying Ground Support Equipment (GSE) associated with the storage and transfer of hypergolic fluids. Applies engineering knowledge of fluid, mechanical, and electrical systems to hazardous fluid (hypergolic) and HP gas systems. Applies regulated, customer, and company standards of safety and environmental protection when authoring and performing hazardous operations. Performs engineering console duties for numerous operations such as power-on testing, operational checkouts for validation, component calibration, pre-launch testing, various simulations, launch countdown, and hypergolic propellant servicing. Responsible for the generation of technical procedures, researching the necessary requirements and standards to apply standard repair procedures and manufacturer's specifications to the development of Technical Operating Procedures for scheduled / periodic maintenance, processing, and problem troubleshooting and documentation and corrective action. Performs maintenance, repair, overhaul, testing, modification, processing, leak tests on components and sub-components and applies knowledge of specification requirements for various Propellant Quantity Measurement methods of flight sub-systems.
