About Gregory Kaplan
Gregory Kaplan earned the M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Northwestern, 2021) following a B.A. (Oberlin), M.A. (Chicago), and Ph.D. (Stanford) in Religious Studies/ Comparative Religions. He has taught at universities, published journal articles and book chapters, delivered academic presentations, and co-edited two collections of original essays, studying mainly intersubjectivity in the writings of Martin Buber and Emmanuel Levinas. After an adventure in the publishing industry, Kaplan found his home in the helping professions. His specializations include group work, family therapy, crisis counseling, trauma recovery, anger management, value conflict, religion & spirituality, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. He launched a private practice and will continue to train in psychodynamic psychotherapy, teach, and write about hatred, value conflict, and object relations.
