Cost Estimating Engineer & Project Manager
CurrentProject Management:• Translate inputs from the RFQ, Sales team, and customer interaction as necessary to establish the scope of the project and determine resources needed to develop the manufacturing solution.• Determine information gaps to quote. Get clarity or lead the tech team to make/document assumptions to provide a timely quote.• Work closely with the assigned Project Leader to ensure a smooth kickoff & and alignment between the quote and project.• Coordinates new opportunity and proposal review processes for assigned opportunities and presents assigned areas during these reviews.Cost Estimation:• Developed a new quoting tool that includes detailed analytics to find primary cost drivers for a proposed part, automated quote document generation, and purchasing quantity optimization.• Interface with project management, preproduction, manufacturing, procurement, and sales teams to appropriately scope and complete the quotations.• Collect and analyze all internal and external manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment, and tooling to ensure estimates are accurate.• Identify and quantify potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs. • Estimate resource requirements and review capacity requirements for production and outsourced processes; initiate Capital Expense estimates as needed.• Update costs as necessary based on new information and scope change discoveries as more information is shared
