• This role saw me gain a wealth of experience. I prepared financial statements, undertook tax planning and forecasting, carried out client money audits, held client meetings and trained trainees.• I gained knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS102 reporting guidelines by formatting client’s raw data to prepare their financial statements. The clients I dealt with were SME’s ranging from small sole traders to Limited companies with multi-million figure turnovers. • I performed duties that involved budgeting and forecasting, tax planning and reconciliations to ensure data was correct and offered advice and solutions to clients to obtain the optimum outcome from their results. This attention to detail along with my exam results, personality and drive enabled me to progress to my role as Manager.• My position saw my responsibilities grow to include delegating, managing and motivating a team of six to ensure deadlines and standards were met. I also implemented new working procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our team.• I started to visit clients to correct their records and software, to perform quarterly reviews on their management figures and to discuss budgets and plans for their future.• Furthermore, I performed client money audits by myself on Solicitor firms, ensuring that they adhered to client money standards. This involved work on and off site investigating their records.• I quickly become proficient in using accountancy software such as Sage, Xero, Quickbooks and CCH, whilst expanding my inherent knowledge of MS Excel, which has been further enhanced with courses outside of work. • I progressed from a trainee and junior member of the team to the Manager’s role within three years. This was achieved through my high standard of work, my determination to impress and succeed and by passing all my exams first time with good marks.
