Currently, Mason serves on the following Corporate Boards:– Board Member – Metinvest BV, vertically integrated steel and mining company– Chairman – United Coal Company, Central Appalachian met coal company– Chairman – Smart Maritime Group, Ukrainian shipbuilding company Throughout his 44 years of professional career in the steel industry, Gregory Mason has been recognized for his leadership and broad international experience in operations, strategic management and process technologies innovation, covering a wide range of steel companies from integrated steel plants to mini mills, producing flat and long products throughout North America, the European Union, Russia, Ukraine and Asia.His management skills are complimented by in-depth knowledge of the technological aspects of steel production processes, their cost structures and key drivers. Specific experience is focused on optimization of product portfolios, operating assets utilization, productivity growth, safety and continuous improvement.Prior to assuming Board responsibilities, Mason held various positions in the steel industry ranging from engineering and operations management through senior executive roles, including CEO of Severstal International, managing North American and European operations with 14 million tons of annual capacity and $10 billion revenue, Vice President of Detroit Steel Company, Technical Director of Caparo Steel, Director of Steelmaking Technology at Davy International, Chief Engineer at Krupp Industries and project manager at Kaiser Engineers.
