About Gregory Ng
I am currently an engineer for the cryosphere group at the UT Institute for Geophysics. I design, build, test, operate, and repair scientific instruments for remotely studying the properties of the Earth's ice sheets, including a multi-frequency ice penetrating radar system and a real-time data acquisition system for these scientific instruments. I also implement infrastructure for computing such as source code version control, scripting environments, and data processing flows.Field work has taken me from Dome C in Antarctica to Station Nord in Greenland.Previously, I have worked in CPU design and verification, writing RTL, assembly language programs, C, and C++ to prototype and test designs.Even further previously, I studied image, signal, and video processing algorithms such as image metrics and algorithms for image displays and sensors.Specialties: Software engineering, hardware design and verification, electronics design and assembly, functional modeling, image and video signal processing algorithms, data analysis and visualization.
