Experienced Engineering Technician with management responsibilities. Accomplished history working across a wide range of different equipment and systems, specialising in sensory & communication systems. Multi-skilled, from delivering the integration of new systems to successfully managing and running multiple pieces of equipment in a high stakes environment deployed overseas for extended periods.Proven experience managing and leading a team of multiple engineers on a day-to-day basis, to enable the smooth running of a section of advanced electrical and electronic equipment. The ability to effectively deliver maximum uptime/availability to command while in high stress environments, with limited material support due to factors such as being away from the UK.My experience gained me the ability to diagnose complex layered defects, while working in a steadfast & methodical manner, including the skills to effectively brief & communicate to command with realistic estimations of time to repair. Drafting reports for operational defects (OpDefs), updating logs, managing preventative maintenance while in line with the ships program using the computer based management system (UMMs) and delivering continuous training to section engineers are all aspects covered by my experience. Always striving to maintaining high engineering standards with a focus on health and safety for the team of engineers being supervised.Other positions of responsibility include being team leader of the fire re-entry team onboard a ship. During a fire onboard a ship I would be responsible for leading a team of 5 people safely into the compartment and extinguishing the fire, conducting search & rescue and damage assessment.In my own time I have become enthusiastic about software engineering and have taught myself C++ OOP to a proficient level. I would like to further add to my software skills by branching out into different languages and working on some open source projects.
