Juniper:Worked on a highly visible security enhancement role. The first part of which was to create OS repository mirrors to provide security patching across the entire company for RedHar/Centos, Ubuntu, & FreeBSD. This consisted of three branches for each repository, emerge, stable & old. The emerge branch was a daily sync with the external mirror. Stable was a sync of emerge on a six month cadence to help throttle the changes to some level of sane changes, and old was derived from the previous version of stable. In the case of a high level or zero day patch the client systems could get patches directly from emerge to provide just in time patching. The second part of the project started out as just automating the creation of Vmware templates to use for smoke testing before a merge from emerge was implemented. It later turned into a project called Image Factory to use Packer on VMware clusters to spin up hardened VMware template to be distribute to the various project teams inside of Juniper. I engineered this system from scratch completely on my own. Other joined in after the fact to help turn this into a CI/CD Jenkins process to create custom configuration package build system. The packages were to provide Juniper with specific preset configuration for things like SSSD, ntp, resolve, Splunk integration, Geo specific internal repo... This was across RHEL/CentOS (RPM), Ubuntu (deb), and FreeBSD.
