Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Assist Trauma Surgeons with bedside surgical and other specialty procedures to correct life threats inflicted upon traumatically injured persons that require immediate transition to the Operating Room or Intensive Care Unit. Aid Emergency Department Physicians by performing required interventions and tasks to stabilize critically ill patients that require emergent admission to the Intensive Care Unit or other in-patient hospital units. Support Physician Assistant’s by assisting with laceration repair and other non-urgent medical tasks for priority 4 and 5 patients. Perform ultrasound guided peripheral intravenous insertion and standard IV catheter placement. Utilize orthoglass to splint and stabilize various fractures. Major Accomplishment: Provide Trauma in-service training to Registered Nurse and Patient Care Technician staff.

Afghanistan

Responsible for administrative command and control of the day to day operations of 9 Fire Departments and 1 Fire Prevention Bureau with +400 assigned personnel. Managed staffing and logistical support functions to meet and exceed contractual requirements. Provided technical direction on the interpretation and enforcement of life safety codes and ordinances. Coordinated monthly reports to project management regarding department activities as well as other reports as appropriate including annual or cyclic activities. Created new and revised existing standard operating procedures to ensure alignment with mission objectives. Major Accomplishment: Facilitated actions to assume the operations of 2 Military staffed Fire Departments ahead of schedule, which allowed military firefighters to demobilize prior to the start of fiscal year 2013.

United Arab Emirates

Managed the administrative and medical processing tasks for an overseas deployment processing center. Delivered clarification and interpretation of medical regulations to senior level staff. Delivered instruction regarding health and safety hazards to persons deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan. Provided status updates regarding medical fitness of sick and/or injured personnel removed from the warzone. Major Accomplishment: Participated in actions that led to obtaining ISO 9001-2008 certification.

Afghanistan And Qatar

Established and maintained command and control of operational fire and rescue emergency responses. Initiated recovery efforts to return affected areas to a state of full or functional readiness. Coordinated with installation agencies to maximize pre-hospital care during and after enemy attacks. Performed reviews, edits and updates of installation emergency management plans, processes and procedures. Major Accomplishment: Created initial training curriculum and instructed 30 NCO and CWO personnel on the use of expeditionary firefighting apparatus at Forward Operating Bases in Afghanistan without established fire protection.

Iraq

Served as mid-level supervisor for twenty five station personnel. Recommended personnel actions related to discipline, performance, leaves of absence, and grievances. Determined origin of fire and its probable cause. Estimated value of damage and provided summary disposition. Responded to mass casualty incidents post rocket and mortar attacks and rendered pre-hospital care to injured personnel. Major Accomplishment: Facilitated the training of nearly 2,000 military personnel during the US Army 2-3 Combat Aviation Battalion’s mid-tour safety stand down, in a single day.

Altus, Oklahoma

Rescued victims from burning buildings, aircraft and other incident sites. Provided pre-hospital care to medical and trauma patients. Transported sick or injured persons to appropriate medical facilities based on patient(s) field differential diagnosis. Instructor for Department of Defense EMT-Basic courses. Major Accomplishment: Implemented the department’s first Personnel Accountability System (PASS-V System).
